HAYS
Hygienists Appreciate Your Service
A Note from HAYS committee chair,
Susan P. Burzynski, RDH, MSEd
Buffalo Dental Hygienists' Association
President, 2006:
A) According to Noel:
-
the names of the soldiers in Charles’
unit CAN NOT be given out!!! They
are in security. Noel does not even
know where Charles is. Which is why
she can’t get a picture for us.
Charles is not allowed.
-
She tells me that Charles and his
troop members do not always have access to a computer
-
Her suggestion was to send (for
example) a case of toothpaste to Charles and let him distribute
it. HOWEVER, Donna read on
http://www.anysoldier.com that IF multiple packages as sent
to one soldier, it will stop mail to the entire group and that
is not what we want to happen.
B)
At this point with Charles not being able to release names,
etc., I am asking each of us to write a letter to Dear Soldier
and send it to Charles’ address. In this
letter to the soldier, I am asking that you ask the soldier IF
he/she:
-
wants to be
adopted or just wants letters from you with no gifts
-
WHAT is it
he/she wants/needs (this will dictate what to send him/her)
-
ask if he/she
wants items sent to their family IN THE NAME OF THE SOLDIER.
